Tour Program

7 Days / 6 Nights

Day 1: Arrive Paro

After you arrive at Bhutan’s international airport, our guide will greet you and transfer you to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, visit Ta Dzong, built in 17th century, as watchtower to defend Paro Dzong (fortress) then visit Paro Dzong, which was built in 1646, visit Kyichu Lhakhang, the oldest temple in the country. In the evening, you can stroll through Paro town.  Overnight hotel in Paro.

Day 2: Paro To Punakha

Morning, drive to Punakha with a stop en route for tea at Dochu La Pass (3,100 meters). The pass offers the most spectacular view over the high peaks of the Himalayas on a clear day. En route stop at Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to Chimi Lhakhang, which is a fertility temple dedicated to Lama Drukpa Kuenley popularly known as the Devine Madman. Day 3: Punakha Festival

After breakfast, you will attend the Punakha Dromchoe festival. Enjoy an annual festival introduced by Zhabdrung to commemorate the victories over the Tibetans. Overnight hotel in Punakha.

Day 4: Punakha-Thimphu, Hike to Lungchuzekha Monastery

Today you will drive to Thimphu via Dochula pass. At Dochula, you can visit the new Druk Wangyel Monastery, which is the only of its kind in the country with elaborate paintings depicting the lineage of the present monarchy and their visionary works. After this, you will begin 2 hours hike to Lungchuzekha Monastery. From 108 chortens, the trail passes through rhododendron forests. Walking along the high ridges dotted with colorful Buddhist prayer flags offers us stunning views of Himalayas, plus incredible vistas into the valleys below the pass. Hike back to Dochula. After lunch, continue drive to Thimphu. Check into hotel on arrival. In the afternoon, you can stroll in Thimphu City. Overnight hotel in Thimphu. 

Day 5: Thimphu

After Breakfast, visit 169 feet tall statue of Buddha Dordenma overlooking Thimphu valley. It is made of copper, gilded in gold and filled with 1,25,000 smaller golden statues. Visit 12th  century Changangkha Temple overlooking Thimphu valley- Parents traditionally come to this temple to get names for their newborns, then explore School of Arts and Crafts where you will see the students creating 13 different traditional artworks which includes painting, embroidery, weaving, woodcarving and clay work. In the afternoon, you can visit Folk heritage Museum, Visit Nunnery temple which is in Zilukha overlooking Tashichhodzong, You can also drive up to BBS tower to relax and enjoy the stunning view of the whole Thimphu city and on the drive back, you can stop at the mini Takin zoo (National animal of Bhutan). Later in the late afternoon visit Tashi Chhodzong which houses the office of the king and Chief abbot of Bhutan (Je Khenpo).. 

Day 6: Thimphu To Paro

In the morning, you will drive to Paro and then hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, which is Bhutan’s most famous monastery. Guru Rinpoche is said to have flown on the back of a tigress from Singye Dzong in Lhuntse to meditate in a cave where Taktsang Monastery now stands. It is perched on the edge of a steep cliff, about 900 meters above Paro Valley. Lunch will be served at Cafeteria restaurant located up on the mountain. After having explored the monastery, you will have back to Paro. Evening visit a traditional farm house which offers opportunity to mingle with local people and to get an idea on their lifestyle. Day 7: Paro Departs

Morning, after breakfast, you will drive to Paro Airport for your departure.
